My goal is to transfer all my files to the NAS, have them available online at any time and be able to access my PMS from any device (obviously taking into account that the PMS on the NUC will be online as well most of the time) At the moment, I am currently using my Macbook running windows 10 as my Plex server and have to connect my WD 4TB external hard drive which currently houses all the media whenever I want to watch a movie. To access it, go to Control panel -> Shared Folder -> Edit -> Permissions -> System Internal user (in the drop down) -> PlexMediaServer. And the other one is called System internal user, and the user name is PlexMediaServer. One is the regular plex user which is more visible in the permission settings, which you usually won’t miss. It has been working pretty well in the past. I have a Synology NAS at home and I have setup a plex server to serve some of the my media collections.
